    Unlisted New York Sutler Denomination

Camp 157th NY Vols., NY- R.A. Bell & Co. Sutlers 10¢ Faded
The 157th Regiment New York Volunteers was organized in Hamilton, NY, in August-September 1862 for three years service. It participated in battles including Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. Through the course of the war, the unit suffered 203 casualties either killed in action, died of wounds, or died of disease.
This denomination is unlisted in Keller's book on sutler notes and grades About Good with a big chunk of the left end "missing in action." There appears to be the faint image of some type of validation stamp on the back.
