Boston, MA- Bank of the Republic $500 Feb. 3, 1860 as G18a Proof PMG About Uncirculated 55.
This uniquely designed and striking note features the state auditor's die at left, an oval portrait of John Marshall at right, and a bright red "500 Dolls." protector to the left of the signature spaces. A gray overall tint and design panels cover the rest of the note. It is printed on India paper with the usual small POCs in the signature lines. There are a couple of small stamp hinge remnants on the back left and right margins. This note was not in the 1990 ABNCo Archives sale and decidedly rare; possibly unique.
