    Atlanta, GA/Bone Cave, TN- James Randals/"State of Georgia" $3 Nov. 1, 1862
    As listed in the 1860 U.S. Federal Census for Van Buren County, Tennessee, James Randals was a 48 year old "Trader." Randals issued several denominations of scrip, including 50¢, $1, $2, and $3. All of the known notes have the same date. The scrip is rarely seen. Records indicate that James Randals led the Confederates in mining saltpeter from Big Bone Cave. PMG Fine 12 Net due to tears which are minor and almost nonissue on a note of this rarity. This note sold for $2,070 as part of our 2012 FUN Currency Signature Auction.
