    Description

Whitman, MA - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 602 The Whitman NB Ch. # 4660
A great note from one of the very scarcest communities in the state. This thinly capitalized institution was Whitman's sole National Bank, and one which had a meager $510 outstanding in large notes in 1935. The census shows just four large examples extant, with this piece one of that quartet and off the market since its last appearance in a 1989 auction. Bright, pen signed PCGS Very Fine 30, a significant Massachusetts rarity certain to delight its fortunate new owner.
