    Description

Belington, WV - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 624 The First NB Ch. # 6619
This small community, which had gone without a national bank from 1863 until 1902, had three banks chartered within two weeks of that year. This is one of the two that survived for any appreciable length of time. It's a very scarce bank in large size, with just three such notes recorded in the census. This piece, which is new to that listing, is as nice as any we know of from here. Fine-Very Fine, with clear purple signatures.
