    Washington, DC - $20 1875 Fr. 434 The Central NB Ch. # 2382
    This is an exceptionally rare note which is one of only six First Charter $20 examples known from all banks in the District of Columbia combined. Just two of those specimens come from this seldom seen bank, with this piece off the market since Tom obtained it two decades ago in a 1988 Hickman-Oakes sale. The one other $20 First Charter known from here, which grades Extremely Fine-About Uncirculated, realized over $10,000 when auctioned back in 2000. It would not surprise us at all to see this pleasing Very Fine example easily reach and perhaps well exceed...
