Wise, VA - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 605 The First National Bank
Ch. # 10611 PMG Very Fine 20.We first offered this great Virginia rarity in our May 2000 auction where we said it was the only large size note known from the sole issuer in a tiny coal country community. Twenty-five years later, it remains unique and, considering that this issuer had only $150 in large size outstanding in 1935, that fact is no surprise at all. Although it has had some repairs, this great Virginia note maintains an overall pleasing appearance for the grade.
