    First Ever Public Offering

    Berryville, VA - $10 1929 Ty. 1 The First NB Ch. # 7338
One of the great notes in the Brooks collection, from one of this state's smallest and most thinly capitalized issuers. Despite issuing from its organization in 1904 through the end of the note issuing period in 1935, no large size notes from here are known, and only two small examples have been recorded in the Kelly census. Our records show no offerings at public sale whatever from this one bank community during the past sixty years, making this the first opportunity collectors have had for six decades to add a note from this small town to their holdings. Expect this bright and sharply printed Very Fine-Extremely Fine rarity to easily reach and very possibly exceed...
Acquired from the dean of Virginia National Bank Note collectors when Elvin Miller dispersed his collection in 1984. Emmett, a long time collecting colleague of Elvin, was given the first opportunity to pick what he wanted from Elvin's collection.
