    Description

    Rare Vermont Original Series $10

Brattleboro, VT - $10 Original Fr. 412a The Vermont NB Ch. # 1430
A most attractive Original Series $10 from this Vermont bank that represents a very rare type and denomination for the Green Mountain State as only seven pieces are reported, including this specimen which made its last public appearance in our October 1998 PCDA auction. It is a lovely note that has the appearance of a much higher grade within its holder and it has maintained its vibrant ink colors and bold pen signatures over its 150 years of existence. It is also very well margined for an Original Series specimen, especially from a New England state. PCGS has noted some minor restorations in harshly assigning a grade of Very Fine 30 to this pretty note but any such restorations are not readily discernable.
