Description

Vernon, TX - $20 1882 Date Back Fr. 555 The Waggoner NB Ch. # 5203
This is the first $20 1882 Date Back to surface from here, joining two of the $5 denomination and a single $10 to represent the Second Charter Date Back designs from this issuer. Only 10 large size notes of all varieties are known from here. The bank's name was taken from wealthy rancher W.T. Waggoner, who also owned this institution. Needless to say, this is a very scarce type and denomination from here. As such, it will likely be the object of considerable bidding activity from the highly competitive Texas collecting fraternity. Fine.
