    Newly Discovered American NB of Dallas $100 Brown Back

    Dallas, TX - $100 1882 Brown Back Fr. 527 The American NB Ch. # 3132
    A great note which combines both bank and type rarity. This short-lived institution issued Brown Backs and Red Seals only before liquidating in 1905. Five notes comprise the entire census, with three of that number entombed in institutional holdings. This piece is new to the census, and becomes one of only twenty-nine $100 Brown Backs known from all Texas banks combined, with Dallas banks accounting for only four of that number. There are a few pinholes, which can be found on many high denomination specimens, but this PMG graded Very Fine 20 example is otherwise flawless for the grade.
