Jellico, TN - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 624 The First NB Ch. # (S)7665
This addition to the census makes a total of five large notes now traced from this very elusive issuer. Tonight's Very Good offering is the first $10 Plain Back to emerge from the shadows and will likely cause quite a stir amongst Tennessee specialists. In fact, although two banks issued from here, this and the National Bank of Jellico, only six notes total are now documented for the entire community, with this being the only $10 Plain Back from either bank. Based on its scarcity, both as a community, bank, as well as denomination and type within a bank, we submit that our estimate may prove conservative given the current state of demand for rare Nationals.
