    Description

    Stamford, CT - $10 1875 Fr. 416 The Stamford NB Ch. # 1038
An attractive early example from this tougher Stamford bank, with this piece the only First Charter $10 reported to date. It is exceptionally bright, with a bold red overprint, great paper quality, and two color signatures, but suffers from its typical New England trim, which enters the design at the bottom right end, as well as a tiny chip out of the right margin which truly affects nothing. Very Fine-Extremely Fine, a tougher early type and denomination from the Nutmeg State.
