    Description

Smithfield, PA - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 624 The First NB Ch. # 6642
This one bank town in Fayette County was in business for less than three decades before it succumbed to the Great Depression in 1931. In that time, the bank managed to pump more than $590,000 in national bank notes into the local economy. When the bank went into receivership, less than 1% of that was still outstanding. This note is only the third known large size note on this bank. It was once a cherished wallet piece. Very Good.
