    Description

Pittsburgh, PA - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 598 The Mellon NB Ch. # 6301
Over one million sheets of Plain Back $5s were printed for this bank, making it one of the few banks in the country that needed a serial number prefix letter for some of its large size Nationals. Plate letter N4 adorns this note, and as should be expected due to its large printings, BEP engraved bank officer signatures are also found. Fine+.
