This piece makes a perfect type example, as aficionados of bank rarity will look elsewhere, allowing type collectors to compete on a level playing field. This was one of Tom's early purchases, obtained at a cost of $1000 in an era when the rarity of high grade $100 Brown Backs was far less evident. We sold a similarly graded but non-certified example from this bank back in 2005 which realized $17,250, typically realizing double the Green Sheet level.
