    Unique Oliver Springs Large Size

    Oliver Springs, TN - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 634 The Tri-County NB Ch. # 11998
A great Tennessee rarity that is the sole large size reported from this obscure east Tennessee bank that was only in business for a dozen years. Chartered in 1921, the Tri-County National undoubtedly chose its unique name due to the fact that the town of Oliver Springs straddled the county lines of Anderson, Morgan, and Roane Counties. Maintaining a paltry circulation of $10,000, the bank was closed by the receiver in September of 1933. To date, just two small size, neither of which have ever appeared at public sale, and this large size $10 have been documented from here. It has seen its share of circulation but maintains solid paper for the grade with pleasing color and bold stamped signatures. PMG Choice Fine 15, and sure to be interest to the many collectors of the Volunteer State.
