Description

Very Rare Bristow Note - One of Three Reported

Bristow, OK - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 635 The First National Bank Ch. # 6260 PMG Very Fine 25.
This great Oklahoma rarity represents one of the toughest locations within the state from which to acquire a National Bank Note. Bristow was the host to two national banks - both of which were closed by receiver in the 1920s. The other bank in town remains unreported while this charter has just three pieces in the census. However, of those three notes, only this offering has ever appeared at public sale. It has a bit of edge damage, but, otherwise, is quite attractive for the grade with pleasing color and bold signatures.
