Poughkeepsie, NY - $1 Original Fr. 380 The Merchants NB Ch. # 1380When we last sold this important mid-Hudson Valley rarity in September of 2006, we described it as follows: "This note last appeared in the 1979 NASCA sale where is was very conservatively graded and realized a then princely sum of $850. The days of acquiring a magnificent example as this at those prices are long gone. This lovely note bears the presence of two folds placed long ago with a touch of light handling. The classic pen signatures remain bold on very crisp surfaces that do not show their age. In terms of condition this Extremely Fine-About Uncirculated beauty ranks as one of the best Serial Number One Original Series notes for the state."
