    New Albany, IN Lazy Deuce

New Albany, IN - $2 Original Fr. 387a The First National Bank Ch. # 701 PMG Fine 12.
First Charters and Brown Backs only were issued from this very scarce New Albany bank, which elected to close its doors in 1897. Just nine notes are presently reported, which may or may not include this Lazy Deuce as one Deuce is recorded in the census without a serial number or grade. Either way, this is the first Deuce from this scarce charter to ever make a public appearance. It has a very nice look for its assigned grade with good color and signatures. PMG has mentioned minor repairs, but that appears to be nothing more than some closed edge splits.
