Sutton, NE - $20 1902 Red Seal Fr. 639 The First NB Ch. # (W)3240 PMG Choice Fine 15.
This short-lived bank issued Brown Backs, Red Seals, and 1902 Date Backs only before closing in November of 1913, a mere two months before its competitor, the Sutton National Bank, shuttered its operation in January of 1914. Just four notes are known from this institution, with this the only Red Seal, which is making its first ever public appearance. Retaining its bold red overprint and a dark president's signature, it maintains an attractive appearance with just some corner repairs.
