Beautiful Uncut 1882 $5 Brown Back Sheet
Saint Paul, NE - $5-$5-$5-$5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 467 The Saint Paul NB Ch. # 3129 Uncut SheetThis is a lovely $5 Brown Back uncut sheet. The paper surfaces are fully original, the penned signatures are bold, the inks are dark, the left and right margins are full, and the paper is white. The top and bottom selvage are also full as all paper guide line arrows are present in their entirety. The top selvage also list the initials of the workmen associated with the production of this sheet. In fact, there is a workman's partial fingerprint found along the top edge on the back. The large bottom selvage does show a lateral and minor corner fold and there are a couple of small folds in the top selvage as well. However, the notes themselves appear to be truly Choice to Gem Uncirculated beauties, making the PMG assigned grade of Uncirculated 62 EPQ completely farcical. The last St. Paul sheet to cross the auction block was graded Choice About New 58 and fetched $17250 nearly five years ago. Expect this beautiful sheet to easily equal and very likely exceed that number this evening.
