Unique for the Bank- First Ever Public Offering

Gering, NE - $20 1902 Date Back Fr. 644 The First NB Ch. # (W)8062
A unique note from a tiny bank in far western Nebraska which issued from 1905 until 1924, when the receiver arrived to shut the doors here forever. Although Nebraska, and particularly western Nebraska, has been an avidly collected area for many years, nary a rumor arose during that period that even one note survived from this enterprise. It was only with the purchase of a small cash hoard that made its way to a local coin dealer in the past year that this rarity was uncovered. Luckily for collectors, this specimen is an attractive, evenly circulated piece with an excellent appearance and bright purple signatures. Fine.
