Superb Gem 1929 $100 - Tied for Finest Known as Type

Memphis, TN - $100 1929 Ty. 1 Union Planters NB & TC Ch. # 13349 PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ.
A wonderful example of this Memphis $100 that boasts a perfectly printed design, bold and attractive paper and punch through embossing. It is one of just three small size $100s graded at this lofty level by PMG. One of the other examples is also from this bank, and it appeared in our 2014 Central States auction, fetched a very strong $8,812.50. With nearly half a decade of additional grading records piling up in the census, this note remains one of the very finest 20th century type notes out there. Nationwide, there are just four Superb Gem Type 1 $100s from all banks and both grading services. An opportunity not to be missed.
