Brookline, MA - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 469 The Brookline NB Ch. # 3553A spectacular note which is one of the highlights of the Capital District Collection. This Brown Back offers everything a collector of National Bank Notes could desire, with the note combining bank rarity, beauty, and historical significance in equal measure, with Brookline the birthplace of President John F. Kennedy, as well as the location of the Frederick Law Olmstead National Historic Site. This was Brookline's sole National Bank, and this piece is by far the finest known of the six examples extant. It's pedigree can be traced back to your cataloguer, who sold it to the gentleman who assembled the Capital District Collection more than twenty five years ago.
