Description

Union Bridge, MD - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 626 The First NB Ch. # (E)9066
This Carroll County note is one of the classic rarities of Maryland's National Bank Notes. For years this town was unavailable, as all of the known examples were tightly held in two long term collections. When one of the collectors became a seller, several examples from here came on the market back in 1999 and 2000. All have now been easily absorbed into collections, with this piece not having seen the light of day since 2000. We sold a $20 Plain Back from this bank which graded Very Fine 25 for $4935 against a pre-sale estimate of $2750-4250 two years ago, and this piece should bring very much the same. PMG Very Fine 25, with some stains that affect little.
