One of Two KnownNorth East, MD - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 598 The First NB Ch. # 7064
Although a handful of Series 1929 examples have been recorded from this one bank location in Cecil County, large notes are another matter completely, with only one specimen reported to date. That note, which we sold in 1998 as part of the Armand Shank collection, has been off the market since its last appearance at public sale in 2000. This piece is new to the census, and likely to be the only large note available from North East for many years to come, as the bank had a miniscule $390 outstanding in large in 1935. PCGS Very Fine 25, an evenly circulated rarity certain to delight its fortunate new owner.
Estimate: $7,500 - $12,500.
