A wonderful new addition to the census for this Lynchburg bank and the state of Virginia as well. Not only is this note just the second $100 Brown Back to surface from this charter, it is also only the fourth example of this type and denomination to be be reported for the entire Dominion State. With the other Lynchburg $100 part of an uncut pair with the state's only $50 Brown Back (which we sold for over $40,000 in 2011), it provides a great opportunity for the state's collectors to acquire this rare type for a more modest (albeit still not cheap) price. This offering has a lot going for it - great color, bold signatures, and solid paper for the grade. PMG has mentioned minor rust on its holder of this pretty note which, after close examination, turns out to be a couple of trivial specks hardly worth noting.
