    Unique for the Bank

    Richmond, KY - $10 1875 Fr. 418 The Second NB Ch. # 2374
Another of the highlight reel items from this astounding collection, as this specimen is not only an attractive example of a rare early type but is the only note known from this short lived banking venture. This bank started off with two strikes against it, as, despite what its title nomenclature might imply, it was not the second national bank chartered in Richmond, nor even the third, but in fact the fourth. It was, in fact, an also ran amongst Richmond's more prosperous banks, and wound up operations after issuing First Charter tens and twenties only until the expiration of its charter in 1897. This is the only survivor listed in the census, and this marks only the second opportunity in almost seven decades that any collector has had to obtain this piece at public sale. Bright Very Fine, with loads of eye appeal, a true Kentucky trophy note worthy of a place in the finest of collections.
