    Excessively Rare Flemingsburg Kentucky Deuce

    Flemingsburg, KY - $2 1875 Fr. 390 The Fleming County NB Ch. # 2323
An exceptionally rare bank which issued First Charter notes only before closing in 1889. An uncut sheet and two single notes represent the entire population listed in the census, with even as massive a collection as the Glenn Martin holdings lacking even one note from this one bank location. We sold the sheet (which realized $69,000) and one of the single notes (a $5 which graded Fine for $6900) in our Bill Gale collection sale in 2006, with no other offerings listed in Track & Price. This attractive Lazy Deuce is new to the census, and represents a rare opportunity for one lucky collector to own a note from Flemingsburg. PCGS Apparent Fine 12, with a tiny edge split at the top center the reason for the Apparent grade.
