Fort Smith, AR - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 469 The American NB Ch. # 3634
A Circus Poster $5 with serial number 12-A, that as far as we can tell, has never before been to auction. Brown Backs on the Land of Opportunity are rare with just around two dozen known, so make this your opportunity. This bank opened its doors on February 7, 1887 and luckily received the Circus Poster design for its $5s. The penned signatures are of the first officers of the bank, Cashier S.N. Wright and President B.H. Tabor. The note grades PCGS Apparent Fine 12, with pieces added and design redrawn. These repairs are along the right margin and at center, but all in all, they were nicely done.
