    Description

    Washington, DC - $1 1875 Fr. 384 The German-American NB Ch. # 2358
A rare District type and denomination from a rare bank which issued First Charters only for only about a year before entering receivership in November of 1878. Only seven aces are known from all DC banks combined, with this a new entrant to the census, raising the total to eight. Five notes are known in total from this bank in all denominations, a surprising total for a bank which had a minuscule $270 outstanding in 1916. Bright PMG Very Fine 30.
