    Description

Washington City, DC - $1 Original Fr. 382a The Citizens NB Ch. # 1893
A rare bank that moved from Hagerstown, Maryland to "Washington City" on May 1, 1874. Only two banks used "Washington City" in their titles, charters 1893 and 2382. This ace is a nice PMG Fine 12 example. Cashier Wm. N. Roach has a light purple rubber stamped signature, while President J.A.J. Creswell's penned signature is in dark black ink. We have not offered another note on this bank since our FUN 2005 auction.
