    Description

    Rare Grand Junction Red Seal

Grand Junction, CO - $10 1902 Red Seal Fr. 613 The Mesa County NB Ch. # (W)7766
A great Colorado rarity from a short-lived Grand Junction bank which lasted only until 1913. Only Red Seals and Date Backs were issued, with two Red Seals and four Date Backs making up the census. Just one of the two known Red Seals has ever made a public appearance and that is the piece we are pleased to offer this evening. The finer of the two examples of this type extant, it is a most attractive note with even wear, a bold red overprint, and dark pen signatures. PMG has noted some minor staining but it is not at all distracting. PMG Very Fine 25, an exceptional Colorado note sure to generate some interest this evening.
