Cincinnati, OH - $5 1882 Value Back Fr. 574 The Citizens National Bank Ch. # (M)2495 PCGS Banknote Unc 62.
This Hamilton County institution opened in 1880 and ceased operations in 1927. The bank was prolific issuer of all three charters of notes during the large size era. This note is a very common bank and type, but decidedly rare at this lofty grade level. The only example we have sold in better grade was a Choice Uncirculated piece that was part of the Malcolm Trask collection in 2005. The only two other high-grade notes that we sold were a couple of nice AU's, both of which topped the $2,000 mark in 2015.
