    Wyoming is the only state to have used three different seals on its First Charter and Brown Back notes. The first was the standard eagle in an oval used on the territorial issues of several states, the second was the Territorial seal, which can be found on First and Second Charter state issue notes, and the third, pictured here, is the state seal, which was adopted in 1893, three years after Wyoming joined the Union. This seal uses a completely altered design from the Territorial seal, with a miner with a pick on one side and a cowboy with a lariat on the other. Banners note the state's bounty, mines, oil, grain, and livestock. At the bottom are two dates, 1869 and 1890, the years Wyoming was granted Territorial status and the year it joined the Union. Dominating the seal at the center is a large statue of a woman on a pedestal, with a banner reading "Equal Rights", draped over her head.
    Any Wyoming Brown Back is a scarce item indeed, and this is a nice one, having been graded Apparent Very Fine 30 by PCGS, with the Apparent designation applied only because of a few closed pinholes. Expect a realization in the area of...
