    $2, The Republic of Texas, Austin, 4/1/1841, A-2, VG. The top margin is even and trimmed into the design at the upper right corner. The ink has eaten through the paper in the two signatures at the bottom and in the serial number at the upper right. The two cut cancels are reinforced on the back with a stamp hinge in the middle of the cancellation. The glue from the hinge has bled through to the front.
