    Description

$1, The Republic of Texas, Austin, A-1, 4/1/1841, VG. The vignettes are attractive and the color good on this early Texas $1 note. The top margin is uneven with some wear at the top right, and the right margin is trimmed into the design. The three cut cancels have been reinforced on the back, causing bleed-though to the front. The upper right corner shows areas of light internal weakness when held up to a light.
