Chicago Day Series G Ticket Oct. 9, 1893 AU
Good Only on Day of Sale 5/T Ticket Choice AU.
5/T on the Good Only on Day of Sale ticket tells us that this ticket was sold in September. The most often seen tickets of this type are for either May or October October 1893 as these were the first and last months of the exposition.
The Chicago Day tickets were printed with Series A through H. The date was chosen to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire of October 8 through 10, 1871.
The date October 21st for the Manhattan Day tickets does not carry any historical significance, as this date was jointly chosen by the New York Times and the Board of Governors of the Columbian Exposition.
