Six Volume Collection of ATM Test and Promotional Notes

Six Volume Collection of ATM Test and Promotional Notes
A wonderful group of more than 1150 ATM Test notes and Promotional notes awaits one lucky winner here this evening. These notes were mainly used to test ATM machines or to promote the machines of various manufacturers. One volume includes Greenback Checks and DACs, forerunners to ATMs, and includes notes and correspondence on the subject. This collection was the basis of most of the US portion of the Catalog of Test Notes 4th Edition of which a copy is included in the lot. Many of the items in this comprehensive collection are scarce to rare. The majority are from US firms, but items from other countries are included. This is a fabulous opportunity to acquire almost half of the known ATM test notes with many in Uncirculated condition. This collection belonged to James Noll who recently passed away. His technical work on ATMs led him to pursue this collecting field as he had access to inside information and material used in testing these machines. He also worked on a census of US Postal Notes. Some of those notes from his collection are also offered here.

Jim was the primary author of catalogs of casino gaming chips (poker chips) and TITOs (Ticket in-Ticket out), the paper slips received by slot machine players when they "cash out". He was directly involved in the Postal Buddy venture of the US Post Office, (Postal Buddy machines vended prepaid postal stationary cards, an experiment that proved unsuccessful). In addition to IBNS, Jim was a member of the American Philatelic Society, the Postal Order Society, the Casino Chip & Gaming Tokens Collectors Society, the Canal Zone Study Group and P25, a group of serious collectors in the San Diego, CA area. Jim Noll was always willing to share information and research new findings. He will be missed by many in the collecting community. This collection will hopefully continue to fuel the passion he had.

    Estimate: $5,000 - $7,000.
