DescriptionProgressive Party Charter Membership Certificate 1912 Campaign $1 Contribution.
Teddy Roosevelt was the founder of the Bull Moose Progressive Party after a split with the Republican Party. The "Bull Moose" moniker came about when Roosevelt boasted, "I'm fit as a bull moose," after being shot on October 14, 1912 before a speech in Milwaukee. He had enough strength to still give his 90-minute speech. The bullet remained lodged in his chest until his death in 1919. Uncirculated and on paper with the slightest hint of toning in the margins.
