    Description

Omaha, NE- Postal Note Type V 1¢ June 30, 1894 Five Examples with Return Letter and Cover
Mr. Mathews continued his collector pursuits for Postal Notes issued on their last day. This time his target was the Omaha, Nebraska post office. This lot kicks off with five Postal Notes. This quintet lacks only one serial number from being consecutive. All of the notes grade Choice About Uncirculated with a little handling in each upper right corner. This lot contains the return letter from Postmaster T.S. Clarkson of Omaha. He writes, "Dr (sic) Sir: Inclosed (sic) I send your Postal notes as requested. Yours T.S. Clarkson (signed)." Also, included in this lot is the envelope used by Postmaster Clarkson to send the Postal Notes back to Mathews. The letter has splits along the folds varying up to approximately two inches in length and the cover is torn along the entire right edge. Another great Postal Note lot from a very busy collector at the end of June 1894. (Total: 7 items)

    Estimate: $3,000 - $5,000.
