    Description

Naples, (NY)- Wm. Marks, Jr. 50¢ Harris 18
Mr. Marks was an undertaker and abolitionist who transported escaping slaves in his hearse. His establishment was an important stop on the Underground. This is the only Harris number for Marks that has a coin vignette. This note has a moisture stain and an approximate one and a half inch tear at top center. Very Good.
