Heath's Infallible Counterfeit Detector Pocket Edition 1870.
This third edition has a green cover with gold lettering. The cover is partially detached on the front and back and many of the pages inside are partially or totally loose, but all are still there. This edition, like the last has both the fractional plates as well as the microscope information in it. There is an interesting notation in pencil, written upside down on the front cover - "A solution of Dextrine (sp) applied that is what is used for postage stamp mucilage." Dextrin is a substance that was used as a water-soluble glue in remoistable envelope adhesives. This cataloger has no idea what the notation means, but it is definitely intriguing.
