DescriptionFourth Liberty Loan 4 1/4% Gold Bond of 1933-1938. $50 October 24, 1918.
Nine coupons remain attached on this attractive Very Fine+ bond that is quite striking in it's overall appearance, with the combination of the red treasury seal, red serials, and green underprint combining for considerable visual impact. The engraved signatures of Register of the Treasury Houston B. Teehee and Secretary of the Treasury William G. McAdoo appear below the obligation. Also, a brown vignette of Liberty draped in the flag appears on the back. These Liberty Loan bonds are becoming increasingly popular with the collecting fraternity, and we suspect that today's price levels will be regarded with a sense of wistful notalgia before the passage of too many years.
