    Extremely Early Dog
This dog is lying on a base that measures 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" and stands 2 1/4" high. He has a retriever-shaped face. This unusual piece dates to the late '70s or early '80s, based on the very large number of currency bits and the extremely rough surface at the bottom. No manufacturer is indicated, and the label, which is in excellent shape, reads, "Made of U.S. Greenbacks, redeemed and macerated by the U.S. government at Washington D.C." The dog's right ear has suffered some minor damage, but the piece presents very nicely.
