Chicago, IL- Postal Note Type V 1¢ June 30, 1894 Five Consecutive Examples.
An interesting grouping that was created and put away on the last day that Postal Notes were sold to the public. One cent souvenir notes were all the rage on that day. Our early collector friend was not happy with just a single piece, but he had to buy five examples in order to cure his insatiable thirst for these neat little notes. The first note grades Choice AU, the middle three pieces grade Choice CU, and the final example weighs in at AU, with a broad corner fold at upper right along with a top edge tear that barely reaches the frame line. (Total: 5 notes)
