    4% Console $50 Bond 50¢ Coupon of 1907 Hessler X166I.
    This 50¢ coupon is from the Four Percent Loan of 1907. The coupons were redeemed quarterly with the first payment due in the final quarter of 1879. This coupon has a portrait of William H. Seward. Conjecture is that coupons such as these were at times a medium of exchange. This particular coupon is for the first quarter of 1896. The portrait for these coupons can either be on the left or right side. If the coupon is an even number, the portrait is on the left. If the coupon is an odd number, the portrait is on the right. This coupon is number 74. PCGS Apparent Fine 15, edge splits; stains; and an ink stamp on the face.
