Description$500 Savings Bond Series E Issued July 8, 1959 at Las Vegas, Nevada Schwan 265.
An eight year and eleven month maturity bond with an interest rate of 3 1/4%. These were introduced on February 1, 1957 in the form of a punch out Hollerith Card. This uncancelled example grades Uncirculated with very light staining on the face. Small pieces missing from the left edge are as issued. The Schwan number is from the as of yet unpublished United States Savings Bonds 1935-2011 by Fred Schwan, Larry Smulczenski, and Jim Aitken.
