    Description

Compton, CA- Unemployed Co-Operative Relief Association Shafer V1, V2, V3
A group of work vouchers used in lieu of currency by this group, along with a letter from B.J. Lazar of Cincinnati, one of the pioneer collectors of Depression scrip. His letter, dated Nov. 15, 1934, asked for samples from this group, which was how many of the known pieces from around the country were saved for later generations of collectors. The items in this lot, now part of the Slabaugh collection, are the plate pieces in the Shafer reference. (Total: 15 items)
